Back in November 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, we sat down (remotely, of course) and recorded our very first episode: RPA & UiPath, where Rinat explained Robotic Process Automation to Amit. We did not know it then, but that conversation would turn into Tech Talk with Amit & Rinat – 92 episodes and counting.
So why did we start?
The world of technology is fascinating, but it is not accessible to a lot of people. Both of us work in technology – Amit in software quality and testing, Rinat in automation and digital transformation – and we kept having the same conversations with friends, family and colleagues. What is RPA? What is Bitcoin? Should I worry about AI taking my job? We realised that what people needed was not more jargon, but someone to explain technology in plain English.
A podcast felt like the natural way to do it. People can listen while driving, running, walking or doing chores at home – and during the pandemic, that is exactly how more and more people were learning. So we picked one technology at a time, did our homework, and talked about it the way we would talk to a friend: what it is, why it matters, and how it is actually used.
Five years on, we have covered everything from ChatGPT, deepfakes and post-quantum cryptography to humanoid robots, vibe coding and electric vehicles. We have interviewed founders and builders. And in June 2021 we even recorded an episode called “How to start a Podcast”, sharing everything we learned – the tools, the hosting, the mistakes – so others could start too.
